  Have not been to Bonanza in 40 years. I had a very tender chicken and baked potoao . A salad bar and some other items.

  I was very surprised to see a Bonanza while visiting Lake Yankton. I'm originally from Maine and hadn't seen this chained outside of my home state. This happened to be my favorite venue as a kid so I'm certain I'm biased in this revue.
  
  It seems the Chicken Monterrey has become decidedly smaller than I ever remember it being (seriously it felt like they served me a pigeon breast), but the salad bar almost made up for it. Bonanza always had a great salad bar, but it appears they've expanded it to include even more stuff. They now have wings, chicken tenders, and tacos as part of the salad bar along with the usual soups, loads of salad items and bakery goods like bead, cookies, and brownies. For an inexpensive venue, this about as good as steak houses get, but not quite as good as I remembered it being. Maybe it's the location or the bias of childhood memories. I'm really not sure.

  My mom found a fly in her macaroni salad from the buffet, aka the fly was in the salad for who knows how long, service was ok, not much food to chose from but overall its a place where I'd never recommend it to someone else.
